Furniture designer for h & m. Right now
Say 'Hi' to Alan for me! Tell him I am restoring a 1982 Kawasaki GPz 750 in my garage - he'll get a kick out of that.

Well, after watching the video with Jimmy Moore and listening to Alan talk about how he designs furniture you can tell the company is really all on the same page and are the same type of people. He designs furniture thinking about nature. He showed how the arms of some of his chairs resemble wood off the beach, the angle of a boomerang or a triangle is the inspiration for parts of a chair. He talked about the Italians making leather (he seems to especially favor Italian leather). He had his motorcycle there, Duane, with a piece of leather stretched across a part of the front. He was interested in hearing from the people in the room what makes them happy in their homes. What mood they are trying to create, if they had one piece of furniture what would it be. He talked about how some of the pieces are inspirations for others and go thru multiple design changes. Very funny guy. His most memorable line is "to make a long story, long ....."
Sorry I couldn't say HI for you, I didn't log back in here til I was home.
Alan is great....he and I will go off in a corner at Market and talk for hours together, and the nicest guy you ever wanted to meet. All those burnished leathers, and perforated ones? Those are Alan's. All those really off-the-wall designs you see with the exposed wood - (Boomerang chair, Jameswood, etc) all Alan's. If its a funky design, and manly/ranchy you can bet its one of his. And yes, he does like to work with the Italian leather products most of all. I bet he was wearing jeans and his tan boots, too! That's all he ever wears....lol

Yup. Dark worn jeans(he has NO idea I'm sure how stylish they look). Not boots but a sort of leather work shoe. Sat in the boomerang, he brought it. I was ready to throw out the design of Mike's apartment& start over. It was really comfortable a OH so cool.
