Tip 1:

If you have a typical lounger with the manual 3-way mechanism in them (such as in the H&M 1021 Woodbridge or the B-Y 4114) and the footrest seems to be loose and stick out just a little when the chair is in the closed position, its something you can adjust by flipping the chair over and looking for where the upper part of the mechanism frame attaches to the wood bar. Loosen the screws and push the mechanism back, or even easier. tap it back with a hammer. Tighten them up and the footrest will stay in.

Tip 2:

Swivel Gliders are NOT designed to go around in a 360 circle. They are built to go 180 degrees one way - then they will hit a stop - and 180 degrees the other. This is done to prevent the power cords on motorized models from being ripped out and is a safety feature. Now, if you have a battery powered model with no cord to worry about, you can remove this screw and nut from the swivel base and it WILL go 360 degrees not stop. You have to remove the lower base to do this (held on with four bolts) but the stop screw itself is a 1/2" nut and hex head screw (see the red arrow in the photos) . Simply remove it and toss it away. This is on a Leggett and Platt base.
