Considering buying a leather chair/ottoman. I am terrified my 2 cats will scratch and ruin the furniture. The cats generally aren't scratching too much. Once in a while they attach the couch but so far they haven't done too much damage. The couch isn't leather.
Those with cats, what are you doing to make sure the cats don't ruin your leather pieces?
Depends on the cat. They all have their own personalities. I've had customers who have had zero problems with their cats and leather. I've also had customers that have torn the new leather furniture to sheds in less than 24 hours of delivery. I know that if you cat has front claws, it can be an issue.

I trained my kitties to use a sisal scratching post I put in the living room. I've also wrapped sisal around the support posts in the basement (their litter box is down there). I initially rubbed the sisal with catnip to get them to try it out. They love it and have never had any desire to scratch the furniture again (I have leather). Good luck!
