how do you test leather swatches for quality? drcollie answer please

i requested some leather swatches from room and board and got like 8 samples. they are labeled like this

"full, top grain, full aniline"
"full, top grain, semi aniline"
and simply "top grain, semi aniline"

they came all flat, showed no signs of distress, so i rolled them all up like blunts and held it that way for a full minute to see if they'd flatten back out with no marks.
hours later they all have small signs of distress, small wrinkles. but the distress for the ones without the word "full" before top grain are definitely more noticable. so my
questions for drcollie are

1)would it be accurate to say when the word "full" isn't in front of word top grain, that quality is is like one tier below full top grain?
2)if you did these with your hancock and moore/other top brand swatches, would it give you these results??

Take them in the kitchen and spill stuff on them like the things you would take to the sofa. Blot the spill, see what is gone and what stays 24 hours later.
