How to figure leather square footage needed
Here's a quick tip on how to figure out how much leather in square feet you need for an upholstery build.
If you know the fabric yardage needed, and that's pretty common for most all upholstery, you multiply it times (18) to get the square footage in leather, and that includes waste and salvage. Let's say a chair requires 9 yards of fabric to make, then 9 x 18 = 162 square feet, that's what you will need.
