I recently took delivery of H&M Sundance sofa in portfolio tobacco leather and I am curious from the experts if my sofa has a defect. Two back leather panels have a bit of a sag or extra leather in between the leather tufting. I have viewed some pictures of photos on this forum and online and it appears that some sofa have very tight tufting with no wrinkles where others may have a little extra material or the tufting process may not be perfect and acceptable. Should everything be pulled very tight and not have this "wrinkled" look on the back of the sofa or is this perfectly normal and within H&M QC for this model sofa?
Perfectly normal, I see that on most tufted pieces that are not diamond-folded. Use and enjoy.

Our Sundance Sofa is just like that ...No Problem. We predict you will absolutely love your Sundance as it is by far our favorite piece in the house. We are not however looking forward to having the movers take it to our new home over the next few weeks as it is about as heavy as a bank safe.
I have a Sundance sofa on order and I have to say if mine comes in like that I would not be happy.
I have seen 3 in person and none of them were like that (I went back and looked at my pictures). I also have numerous photos found online saved on my computer and I don't see the wrinkles on any of them!
I wonder if their quality has started going downhill already!?
All this furniture is hand-made, to get a large piece of leather across the back and then sew a button onto it and expect it to be completely smooth in every aspect is a VERY demanding standard. Certainly that is the goal and ideal, but allow a little leeway for hand-craftsmanship and the inherent flaws that can occur whenever a person rather than a machine makes something.
