If you are like I am, you might watch TV in the evening with your laptop or tablet balanced on your lap or knee and use it during commercials, and that is pretty commonplace. A few years back we made a small custom table for a gentleman who wanted it to slide under his sofa as a kind of tray. He found one at Pier 1 or IKEA, but wanted something that wouldn't break and commissioned one through my store.

John Buchanan was at my store a few weeks ago and dropping off furniture, and I said "John, remember that little table we did about 4 years ago? I think there is a market for those, make me up four of them, will you?" And so he did....and here they are. This first batch is in Tiger Maple, but we can do these in cherry, mahogany, walnut or any other wood you want. They are solid, with correct mortise and tenon joinery. In fact, they are so well made that you cannot hurt them in normal use - I'll guarantee it. If ever one gets the wiggles, return it and I will replace it.

Price is $ 450 at the store, and I can ship these UPS for whatever the box, padding and actual UPS would be. First one sold 4 hours after they arrived, the man that bought it said "This is exactly what I need". I told John we need to use the heaviest and most durable topcoat lacquer we could source, so these could stand up to the heat of a laptop and moisture from drinks, so they have that as well. (finish is not guaranteed, however). If you need a custom size, we can do that as well. These measure 19" x 14.5" on the top and are 26" high.

It costs money to make them right, with solid wood and correct joinery. We don't take shortcuts at The Keeping Room in they way things are built, and these will last many, many years and stay solid. Shown nested up to a Hancock and Moore sofa...
