Default Which are the two dimensions in published measurements?

A chest of drawers has three dimensions - width, height and depth (distance from front to back). However, when I go to a furniture website, only two dimensions are listed, e.g. 31 1/2x39 3/8 . Which of the three dimensions are they omitting?

If only two then Depth is missing the vast majority of the time.
