    Default Advice on Leather cleaner/conditioner

We have a 16 year old Leather Trend sofa and love seat. I do not know if it is Aniline or semi-aniline. The leather is like a fighter/bomber jacket leather.. soft. If you scratch it with your nail, once it is conditioned the scratch is gone. When we first purchased it, we had an awesome cleaner/conditioner set purchased from the furniture store. Since moving (military) all over the country, overseas and back, we lost the old bottles and can't remember the brand. We have been using some Weimans but it doesn't last long (in my opinion). We would like to bring our couches back to life. Do you have a recommendation? The local furniture guy here recommended Guardsman but from your website I feel you have more of a trusted opinion.

    Thank you in advance.

You have a pull-up leather, so you want an aniline kit. They are more of an on-going maintenance product rather than a restoration one (no leather care product will restore a soiled or cracked leather surface). Leather Solutions int'l is probably best in the industry, its a 3-bottle kit. They're not inexpensive, but they are the ones the manufacturer's recommend. $ 49.99 for the kit and $ 14 to ship. Leather Magic and Leather Masters also have good product. Guardsman - pass....

Thank you so much for the recommendation. Do you sell that product? If so how can I order from you?

I have the Leather Solutions Kit - see here for details. You can get either Kit # 2 or Kit # 3 (for pull-up leathers). Both will work.

Typically I do not allow new posters to create imbedded links, hence the edit. Its a sign of spamming. Once you have made other contributions then I generally let them slide. For the time being, people can do an internet search for it, embedded links for Newbies are not permitted.

To nourish my leather I mix one part white vinegar with two parts linseed oil, shake well, and then apply to the leather using a soft cloth. Working in a circular motion, trying to cover the entire surface. Rub in thoroughly, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then buff with a soft cloth to bring a shine to the leather surface.

You may need to buff once more before sitting on the furniture.

Generally I get really good results, anyone else tried this ?
