Default Anyone have experience with Stickley warranty work?

I have a dining table that has developed a crack in one of the legs, before I call Stickley I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice in dealing with them?

I bought the dining table a couple of years ago and it is a pedestal curved leg design. I noticed the other day one side dips down when you push on it and looking underneath, one of the curved legs has a crack where it meets the frame that is letting it move around and I expect it will just get worse. The table looks like this and the vertical crack is in the part where it meets that middle support:

Probably a fault in the wood, and that was a seasonal crack from winter/summer movement that opened up severely. I wouldn't think there will be an issue getting that taken care of with Stickley. Just be prepared to be without your table for 6 to 8 weeks is all. Definitely get it fixed if you can feel a wiggle or see a dip.

Thanks Duane. It sounds like then they come and pick it up, rather than repairing / replacing the wood in my house?

That kind of repair cannot be done in a home visit.

I had to do a little run around with the local dealer but I've finally got this in the works. Does anyone know if it is normal for the local dealer to charge a fee to come pick up the furniture and bring it back later even when the repair is covered under the Stickley warranty?

In case anyone is curious, the process seems to be you take some pictures and email them to the dealer, they send them to Stickley. Stickley says yes they'll cover it under warranty or they won't. If they say yes, the dealer comes and picks it up and ships the piece to Stickley, who repairs it and sends it back to the dealer. If they don't cover it under warranty, you still have the option for them to pick it up and ship it and Stickley will give you a repair quote once they receive it.

I have sent my pictures in and am waiting on an answer for the coverage.

A dealer, if local, generally does not charge a fee for pickup and redelivery of a warranty piece. I know I do not (outside of our delivery areas - 2 hours or more, yes)

Yes they want to charge $130 for the pickup and redelivery... maybe I will call Stickley and see if that is expected / acceptable in their warranty process. I already had to call them once and get them to call the dealer to explain how to do the warranty repair, it seems my local dealer has not carried their line very long.

That is a dealer courtesy thing, Stickley will not get involved in that. I would never charge my customers for warranty pickup and return if they were in my local delivery zone. Not very classy....

In case anyone was wondering how this turned out, the local dealer picked up the table on June 15th and I got it back last Friday - 58 days end to end. The repair was covered under warranty but I did have to pay $106 to the local dealer for delivery, which is BS in my mind but I had no real choice.

The repair is good, but otherwise the table did come back in worse shape than it went out. A couple of new small marks on the rim and the top was quite dirty with some light marks that came off when we cleaned it. Overall I am happy the repair got done but would not say I am satisfied with the warranty service.
