Default Hancock & Moore # 6042-3 Utopia Sofa in Stampede Harness

Just arrived as a floor model today, this particular piece has a substantial discount as it was overgoods at Hancock and Moore (another dealer or decorator ordered it, then did not take delivery). I love to buy overgoods because I can give YOU a great price on the one unit, in this case it's $ 1,000 off the price I would have to charge you for it were I to configure it in the store and order it. That's a big deal.

I was surprised at how compact this sofa is, when I brought it into the store and set it next to an Austin High Back Sofa the big Austin absolutely dwarfed it. This is a really good size for an apartment, condo or other room where you don't have huge space, but still want a comfortable, very stylish sofa. This does not have an upright sit to it, rather a mild slouch to it so its more of a relaxing piece than formal upright. Stampede Harness is a pure aniline with lots of natural markings on it, you will see fat wrinkles and healed scars all over this leather. Notice there is a different leather - Venice Harness - on the Front Bottom Border, Top Back Border and Front Arm Panels. Venice is a patterned leather - you can just make out the contrast if you look hard. It's a great look, but the contrast is not distinct so I think a lot of folks will never notice it at first glance. R / S nails finish it off.

I love everything about it! Now I know what to look for when our couch croaks.

Brilliant: they put the cushioning where you actually use it and saved a bunch of space that way.
It is 3" longer than my couch/loveseat and yet, appears to have 9" of extra length in the interior.

Looks nice. How do they make the pattern in the Venice leather? Is it just natural somehow or stamped/dyed?

They use a variety of techniques to do patterned leathers. Some is done with a laser, however I think the Venice is probably more of an old-school embossed type of thing.
