    Default DIY nailhead trim repair

    hi,
im hoping someone can tell me the best way to reattach the decorative nailhead trim to my couch. they are the large round single pieces, spaced about three inches apart from one another. i'd prefer to do this myself, i just dont want to possibly damage my leather so im hoping someone has experience with this before. thanks in advance

Pretty easy to do. A small upholstery hammer (they have thin striking heads), a good aim and a steady hand. Hold the brass nail with one hand, three taps per nail and its done.

You should see the nailers at work at Hancock and Moore. Amazingly fast. I would guess they install one nail per second, all by hand. Next time I go to the factory I'll have to time them. They may even be faster than 1 per second....
