I have a 5 piece set of Sumpter solid oak bedroom furniture that my parents purchased when they got married 46 years ago. I’m considering selling the whole set, but have no idea what to value it at. The set has a queen bed, armoire, dresser with two tall mirrors, and two end tables. Personally I think the set is beautiful, and I know it’s quality great. Furniture is not built like this anymore unfortunately. So any advice about the set’s name and value would be greatly appreciated. If the picture didn’t attach please let me know.
The market for ALL case goods (wood) both new and used, is very poor right now. Design trends use minimalist amounts of it and dark woods like what you have are mostly give-aways on production furniture. Suggest you keep it if you like it as it has minimal resale value.
