    Default I bought a rug

After much of research and reading, I realized that only way I can get a rug online is to start slow. I purchased this one today, which claims to be hand made/woven and hand noted. It's a relatively think rug and should hopefully be a great addition to my walk

pics attached. if someone has some insight on it based on not the best pics, i'd appreciate it

It looks good! That's a handwoven rug with aniline dyes, the edges are a bit uneven but that's not too bad - some weavers are more skilled than others. What was the price per square foot? Country of origin?

i really liked the design. i do not know where it was made, but they said it was made in 60/70's.. not sure if true or not. it def has some worn spots (attached pics and uneven, but likely a good thing). it's pretty thin. almost 4x8ft but weight below 10lbs

per per ft was very very good (below $10/sqft), only reason I took a chance , because even if it was fake, I'd still be happy.

At $ 10 a s.f, you can't go wrong. That rug is also small enough for you to easily clean it yourself if need be. So easy to do, I never understand why folks send their rugs out (unless they are massive in size, then they are hard to handle)

yep yep, that's exactly what attracted it to me... i can prob use a bathtub for it. i was curious. what did you mean by aniline dyes... does it refer to natural/veggie dyes or a specific process only?

Correct. Aniline-dyed are vegetable-dyes made from plant roots in rugs. Chemical dyes are known as Chromium and what is used in mass-produced rugs such as the well-known brand Karastan.

Only so much you can tell from photos, but that small run is designed as a wall hanging and buy it as you would a piece of art.

I bought both of them. First arrived and pics below. I really like how colors pop. first pic in kitchen and 2nd in it's place near my bradington-young sofa that I love... in fact, if that sofa originally wasnt that fugly color in the ad, it'd prob sell much better

Those rugs look really nice. What site did you find them on?

Several month of eBay trolling basically. Many pics there are not good. sent sellers message, ask for better pics, close ups, pics of back. Most of the time what they have in titles as age or where they were made or any kind of labels on back, are not reliable. I got these basically because I loved the look and Duane said they were veggie dyed/hand made. There are always interesting things to find on ebay, but you have to be very careful and ask sellers questions and buy from ones that offer free returns
