    Hey John,

Good to see you stop in again, its been awhile! Glad to hear you like your H&M furniture - that Milan series leather ages very nicely I would expect, and builds uniqueness and patina over time and with use. I was sad to see that leather get dropped as well as the Upton series. That was REAL LEATHER, not the processed/protected/sanded/painted/clearcoated stuff that so many people think they have to have for durability. As your discovering, real leathers like Milan become better with age.

Thanks for your update, John. Even from this online picture that leather just looks lovely! The "Upton" I saw on a few pieces then went to look for a sample and found it was discontinued. Too bad. Really that Milan leather is perfect for that sofa.

Duane, you are correct about the leather.

Rafree1, it sure works for me.

    Regards,
    John

    H&M SPRINGFIELD # 4445 CUSTOMIZATION QUESTION
Could this tight back sofa be built straight across with back height 38.25 inches the entire width? It possible what would be the cost?
    Thanks Pat

You don't want to do that, trust me. That will flatten out that piece and it won't look right, it will appear 'squashed' and your back height will shrink to around 34". I'm afraid you would have a disaster on your hands. If you REALLY want that modification, then I can get a price though there would be a disclaimer form that would have to be signed prior to production because both H&M and I don't think it will be satisfactory.

I thought the entire back could be the 38.25 inch height that is listed at the top of the bow, not just cut back to lower height at each end of the back.
My search is for a tight back sofa, clean lines, no rolled or english arms, no gimp, just simple welt and nails for trim.

Hi,pardon my jump in here but the Carmen has a tight back but a couple of buttons. I'm not sure what you call that style of arm.

    Or the Yosemite?

One has to be careful when you decide to become a furniture designer. Generally I don't recommend because if you don't like the way it turns out you have a rather costly mistake!

The GOLDEN RULE is : HE WHO HAS THE GOLD RULES. I have been searching for a replacement sofa requested by "HE" for the totally broken down section sectional "HE" chose at Havertys . This time there is to be no tufts, no buttons, nothing girly, for napping on in his tv room. Maybe I should just order a $499 special good for a year, except this sofa goes up stairs and I am tired of repairing and repainting the stairwell walls and bannisters.
