One of Hancock and Moore's Flagship pieces, the # 6038-3TL Hennessey Sofa, just arrived in the store and available to purchase. This piece defines the art of upholstery-making and has several design features that other makers cannot hope to duplicate. Leather is Nirvana Cloud (GR1), wood finish is Java, nail trim is Black Pearl (BP). This is a heavy sofa - I was quite surprised at the weight, however being a solid maple frame vs the plywood almost all makers are using these days, I should have expected that Elegant, beautiful, and comfortable. No one pulls leather as tight, nor tufts as deeply as Hancock and Moore. A real showpiece.

Ha, sold that quick! Too bad you didn't order two or three.
There's an interesting dynamic at play right now in the furniture industry, there's a shortage of new pieces and long wait times - so floor models are going very quickly if they suit a customer's needs as to style and type. Yesterday we drove a sofa and two chairs 600 miles to central Michigan for a customer, because I had the pieces in stock and she could not source locally. And yes, that was a big delivery fee as it was 9 hours out and back however she got it quickly and for the upcoming holidays. At least 20% of my showroom has emptied out and I'm trying to scramble to get new pieces in that I think will still be in demand. Otherwise, I have to wait until February for more floor stock (which I have also ordered).
Custom furniture orders have been set aside, as all the makers are going full-on producing standard items right now and I've been told any custom modifications - prepare for a long wait, and/or they are declining to quote right now. Even the imports that are normally in stock are sold out, as people are creating home offices and fixing up the interior of their homes due to Covid. When there is more time spent in the home, you want it nice! Some manufacturers (not any of my suppliers) are restricting orders to only their large accounts, and have frozen out smaller ones for new orders and that's something I've never seen before. And of course, you can throw order wait times out the window, there is nothing normal right now. There are materials shortages and transportation bottlenecks to boot. My freight company that regularly delivers all my furniture to my store is swamped and has run out of room at its terminals. Too much furniture and not enough trailers or drivers. What used to take four days to arrive once it left the factory now takes three weeks.
So yes, pieces are going fast and showrooms are emptying out. And price increases are coming, too. Strange times.

My wife saw this sofa and wants one for our living room, which will of course, also mean a couple new chairs!
This style REALLY appeals to the ladies. I will have to get another floor model.
