Seems like both cloth and leather cushions don’t hid their shape .
Didn’t see H and M cloth but saw their leather .
The store said quality of both brands is the same
Thoughts ?
No kids , just wide and I
Like cushions that hold their shape and don’t puddle
Am I asking too much
Leather stretches. I have had my sofa for 2-3 years and no puddling yet but I made sure I got a style that I could rotate cushions and I think that helps. I have never really had puddling with fabric, but I guess it depends on what kind of fabric you like. Even my Stickley dealer, which is where I bought mine, said the H&M was better quality. Stickley is good. H&M is better.
My dealer had a display that showed the build of H&M and another one that showed the build of their own. I don't remember the differences, it was a while ago, but the H&M was better. That display is gone now.
City Sofa. I think firmer cushions help some too. Also, H&Ms cushions hold their shape a long time and there is a nominal 100.00 fee if you need to replace them at any point.
No it is the Hancock and Moore City Sofa. I bought it through my Stickley dealer.
Stickley is actually the largest multi-store seller of Hancock and Moore in the country. Which leaves me to believe "If your upholstery is as good, why are you selling another maker's in your stores?" That's the question you have to ask. Of course the simple answer is "if they could make a piece in leather as good as Hancock and Moore for same money, than why wouldn't they?"
The only way to prevent puddling of leather is to not use the piece.
To minimize puddling effects, don't go with loose cushions, get a button-tufted sofa or chair. Or a tight back. Anything with a cushion is going to show puddling over time.

Aha! I am considering the H&M Tavern, and leaning toward the 5067 because it has a tufted seat. My thinking is that a tufted seat will puddle less, or puddle in a way that I don’t mind as much. I don’t like puddling a ton— but it bothers me less in tufting. Just my preference, I guess. MY ONLY CONCERN IS that, duh, you can’t rotate or fluff a tufted seat like on the 5067. Given that, would you steer away from the UltraDown fill?
Excellent choice and you are correct, the lather on the seat will stay taunt. You can’t get a seat cushion option on a tight seat, they come one way only.
