    Default Ava sofa in cream

My local dealer only has 3 H&M sofas to try. One is an “Ava” in Angelo Cream leather. It is very comfortable for my short legs. I’m not a fan of the modern style, but the dimensions fit me perfectly. I don’t see many other sofas with the smaller seat depth. (Duane, please talk H&M into a search feature for their sofas, using measurements, and style features! I have looked and looked at their sofas online, until I’m almost blind trying to find the perfect style and size.). The Ava being in stock is a big plus and the item seems to be priced very reasonably.

My big question though is, how would cream leather wear over 20 years? It’s just me and my small dog and she is never on the sofa without a blanket under her. I’ve never had leather furniture long term so really not sure how it would look in 10 years? I do plan on conditioning/cleaning as referenced on this forum. What could I expect and would I be sorry for not just ordering a safe caramel?

The 9840 City sofa will have a similar sit to an Ava in size if you want a more traditional style.

Leather longevity is always based on two things 1) Keep it out of direct sunlight or have UV tint / shades on you windows. 2) Clean and condition regularly - at least 2x a year, regardless of the series of leather or color of the hide.

Thanks Duane. Think the Anderson would be a similar sit? It’s just a half inch deeper.

With a cream leather I would be worried about dye transfer from jeans. Is that a legit concern? I have seen it on lighter color leather car interiors, but maybe that just comes down to cleaning as well.

Yes, blue jeans are dyed, so there can be a dye transfer on anything and any color. Mostly though it damp jeans that are a problem, sweaty in summer, etc.

You can solve the blue Jean issue with soaking them in vinegar one time.
