Thread: Hancock & Moore find, missing tag.

Default Hancock & Moore find, missing tag.

I found this beautiful Hancock and Moore office chair(https://www.hancockandmoore.com/Prod...?SKU=9572ST-PL) on Craigslist for next to nothing. It looks like the tag has been pulled off. It is in mint condition, and I have thought about selling it to someone who would appreciate it more, but is there anyway to prove it is Hancock and Moore/will a buyer of a piece like this care if the tag is missing? On a tight seat version, there is no way to open the seat cushion and look at the core construction which would be stamped with markings if a separate seat cushion. So that answer would be there is not a way to positively identify it.

I've never seen a sticker on an H&M Piece that identifies the Clean Up Person and Final Inspection Person, however. That's a curiosity. Doesn't mean they didn't do that, just I've never come across one.

It certainly looks like a Hancock and Moore unit, that's a fairly unique chair that today would cost over $ 3,000 new in a GR 3 leather (which is what that appear to be). I don't understand why people will sell their expensive H&M for almost nothing, makes no sense.

It appeared to be someone who clearly did not work in an office, tasked with selling a bunch of furniture from an office that was closing down. I looked high and low for any dupes of this chair, and can't find anything. Still, would probably make it hard to sell. I did just notice "101701" is stamped on the main part of the metal on the bottom of the chair, not sure if that could help identify it at all?

If you bought it from one of those used office furniture sales places, the "cleaned and inspected" tag is probably from them, not H&M.

I think from the look and construction along with the link to the current model, someone buying it would have confidence it is genuine. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
