Default That's going to slow down deliveries for a bit

Friday, while unloading freight I was wrestling a tall King Size headboard off the Murrow's truck and it started to go the other way. I planted myself and pulled with all my might....and my right hamstring muscle literally popped and I was overcome with an immediate loss of strength in the leg and severe pain. I have never done that before in all these years, but at age 68, I guess I'm not as strong as I was at 35. That was the first of 15 pieces to come off, there were 14 more on the load but no one else to help. Between the driver and myself, we did manage to get them off, but as soon as we did I was off to the Emergency Room. The Good news was the muscle was not torn off the bone, but the bad news it was a severe sprain that can take some time to heal. Never having had one, I was surprised by the pain level, actually.

Sarah called our freight lines and told them to hold off on bringing anything this coming week, because I can't lift it off the truck until this leg heals up some. I stayed home this past Saturday. The hazards of a small family business......Sarah is not big enough to pull freight off the trucks, though she is game to try, you can't make up the need for bulk and muscle. So if we told any of you folks your order was inbound to the store, it's going to be a little later, sorry - can't be helped. Please bear with as I work through this injury.

My wife said today, "did you see the bruise on the back of your leg?"

I said "No, is there one?"

So she took this photo. I have to say, I didn't know you could even bruise like this from an internal injury! Apparently, you can.
