I have been planning to purchase the Evening Sofa, but after looking through the catalog I was a bit drawn to the Newton sofa. I want a comfortable place to sit or lay, but I also want it to look as nice as possible. I like the curve on the back of the Evening sofa, particularly the one that's on this site with the nails on the back. I also like the curves on the bottom of the Newton sofa. Does anyone know whether their are any curves on the back (either on the top or bottom) of the Newton? Also, if anyone has anyone sat on both of these and would provide info on whether they sit differently or if one is noticeably more comfortable, I would greatly appreciate it.
thanks!
They have a different feel to them overall. The Evening cushions are thicker - much - so its more of a 'sit into; type of sofa. The Newton, with its thinner cores, is less enveloping. And the appearance is different as well. Evening is heavy-looking, stout. But lower to the ground. Newton is a high back with lighter, cleaner look but a high back appearance. Comfort is subjective, of course.

Thanks Duane. The catalog pictures do show that the evening cushions are thicker than the Newtons. Do you, personally, find the Newton to be comfortable and one that you would sit in for a few hours at a time to watch tv, or does it sit like a more formal conversation area piece. Hopefully that's understandable!
I find them both comfortable, but different. I have no objections or negative comments on either one.
