Re: Looking for a Durable, Heavy use Recliner or Chair
If you are in a recliner 12+ hours every day then you need not a good recliner - but the BEST recliner. And the best one on the market is a Hancock and Moore. There are some you can get into for $ 2K, a few will go over that depending on model and leather chosen. Haverty's is not high quality at all. Get an H&M and you never have to worry about inner cores, they are free of charge as long as you own the piece. Don't get fabric, it won't last. At the high rate of use that you will be having, fabric will be worn out in 5 years or less. Leather will go 4x longer if you keep it maintained. With that high a use level you will probably need a mechanism around the 10 year mark, but once that is put in you would be good for another 10 years.
Also consider a tilt back chair and ottoman instead of a recliner. They are stronger and even more durable. Choice of style depends on your decor and how tall you are.
