I have a hancock and moore recliner that the mechanism needs replaced. The RU# is 3532 and H&M said I needed to replace it with a RU3732 but would have to bore a couple of holes in the frame. Can anyone tell me they have done this and how hard is it to do.
Mechanisms are no fun to install. You beat up your hands pretty good with small cuts and the like, and even if you are handy its likely to take you about 3 hours. An upholstery shop can usually install in about an hour.

I have a Hancock & Moore Austin High Back Chair 8136NB and the gas cylinder does not return upright. When I manually lift the back upright it does not stay upright it drops back a couple of inches. What all do I need to repair mechanim?
You are going to need to order a new gas cylinder strut. $ 60 + $ 18 shipping. I can get that for you if call 703-360-6399 with a credit card, or you can source from any H&M dealer.

Thanks for the information .Will the new strut correct the upright lag and will the the upholstery need to be removed to replace the strut or can it be completed through the side in the back? I have a contact number for Hancock and Moore and can order the strut from them.
Yes, it will make the chair perform as new. There are (2) clips that hold the strut in place, you can do it without removing the upholstery if you're really-really good, but in most cases you will have to detach the outback in order to see what you are doing.
Good luck ordering direct. H&M normally ONLY sells through dealers, including parts.

Thank you Fearless Leader for the help. I was able to order the strut from Hancock & Moore. I can access the bottom clip easily but the top connection feel like a hex nut. I will wait until I receive the new strut before I attempt removal and installation. I may have to contact an upholster. Thanks again
Hello. I have and HM Grant 7004 lounger about 15 years old. Kids stood on the foot rest and bent/broke the mechanism which needs to be replaced.
Looks simple which I am sure it is not. What part should I order from Legget and what should I expect to pay?

That chair looks really good for 15 years old. A replacement mechanism is available from Hancock & Moore through a dealer such as myself, cost is $ 230.00 + shipping (usually $ 20 to most USA addresses). You can order from my store by calling 703-360-6399 if you like or sending a PayPal for $ 250 to dcollie@keepingroom.com (be sure to include your shipping address).
They are not easy to install, but not impossible, either. If you are reasonably handy, you can do it in about 2 hours time and expect some cuts and nicks on your forearms in the process! An upholstery shop in your area can also install for you if you prefer.
