I forgot to post these up from the last Market in High Point. Did you know that Hancock and Moore has been in all three of the past administrations, including the current one? I personally sold (72) leather pieces to the Bush Administration in 2007 (if you come to my store, you will see the laminated purchase order in my staircase from the 1st to 2nd floor). President Obama's chair in the Oval Office was H&M as were Cabinet chairs as well. The Trump Administration also has new Hancock and Moore in the White House also, though I am not sure what they purchased.
Here's a photo of the Obama Administration Cabinet Chair:
They did these for the South Carolina Senate, each one embroidered:
An this was to show how they carve their chair legs from single blocks of solid wood:
(If you look closely at most furniture with QA legs like this, you will see laminated glue seams, few do them out of 1-piece solid maple)

Duane,
What is the leather on the Cabinet chair?

Beautiful chairs! I would love to what each of the leathers are. I like the dark colored leathers, although I believe you said they are always grade I leathers, which might not be as nice on a sofa as it is on a chair with a tight back and seat.
I don't really know on the Carolina Senate chairs, it looks like a higher-end hide to me.
On the Federal government chairs, they only buy the entry level grade leather, so its GR 1. As it was explained to me by the GAO supervisor putting the contract together "It's taxpayer money, so we have a duty to not spend more than is necessary, so no leather upgrades. We will spend money on durability however, so we buy Hancock and Moore leather upholstery because it has proven to last as they have superior construction compared to the rest of the industry."
True story. I actually came away from that feeling pretty good about it all. They really did pay attention to buy no more than was necessary with yours and mine money.

Do you happen to know which chair President Obama used in the Oval Office?
I do not - I did ask, they would not tell me!

Not an H&M chair. Concorde Presidential Office Chair manufactured by Global Group. Not what I expected at all. I did search. Can I put a link here or is it against the rules? I forget from one forum to another, lol
You can link it....
but it was H&M, Jimmy Moore told me in person....here was the original thread on it:

"It's taxpayer money, so we have a duty to not spend more than is necessary, so no leather upgrades. " Like you, Duane, I felt good about that. I have no problem with a good quality chair. But someone forgot to tell Ben Carson. He spent 31,000.00 on a new dining room set for his HUD office. They must have a lot of high end dinners for heads of state in his HUD office. I hope he didn't get it from you, lol.
