A bookcase customized with a drawer at the bottom, in tiger maple.
I love that piece too!
Very nice! Is it solid tiger maple?
Yes it is. No veneers. All tiger maple solids except for the drawer interior sides and bottom, which is made of poplar. Note too, the exposed dovetails on the top (and bracket feet). Those are not decorative, the 'pins; you see on the dovetails are actually the side portion of the vertical case, locked into the top. You don't see that very often, most tops are simple screw-ons these days. This is old-school workmanship.

Duane, how tall is that tiger maple bookcase? Does it have the same proportions that mine will have?
Thanks,
Lisa
I can't recall how tall it was made....too many hundreds of pieces in between that one and today's date, sorry! That's why I did a scale drawing of yours Lisa, so you would see the proportions of it. Yours WILL have what we call a 'face frame' on it because of the inlay detail. A face frame is a return on the front edge of the piece. It will look good.....

It's about 58.5" high.
