Hi All,
Duane tells me I got the very first Sundance loveseat so I wanted to post some pictures. The pieces are absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable - even for my 5'2" frame.
The leather, Upton Cafe (GR2), has been discontinued, but it's really wonderful. I happen to love all of the natural markings. I must admit it's a bit darker than the sample swatch we had, but I knew this was the risk of ordering without a CFA.
Duane, thank you so much for your help and great service. It's truly been a pleasure & you'll be hearing from me soon... need a nice comfy chair to go with these beauties. (replacing the tables too- the old pine ones just don't cut it).
Wow! It looks beautiful in dark brown. I ordered the Sundances in Equestrian Truffle....looks to be similar in shade to the UPton Cafe. I'm sure mine will turn our great, too.
Thanks, aluebcke! We love them too. Please post pictures when you take delivery. I can't wait to see how your room comes together.
Regards!
Will do! Now I really can't wait for them to be done.
You did get the very first Sundance Loveseat, Idematte - it looks great. It takes the smaller form factor very well - better than I expected. Good pick! You'll find Upton Cafe is a pullup, and as you use the pieces it will get lighter color bursts throughout. I have Upton Cafe on my office chair at the store than I use every day, and it took about 1 year of use for it to look 'really good' with the color bursts. It's hard to beat a good pull-up leather. Thanks for the photos1

Great photos! Thank you - I wish they had kept the leather because I think - for what I like - it was the very best of the GR 2 leathers out there. It was dropped because of complaints, however. Too many customers were not ready for the amount of natural markings on the hides and strong dye lot color variance and that became an issue. Too bad, I always kept a floor model in that hide and still have it on my office chair that I use daily.
I almost hate to say it, but most retail consumers like the processed leathers that are sanded, embossed, perfect and painted, especially at the lower grade levels. It takes a more sophisticated buyer to own natural marking hides and someone who really has a love of natural leather vs the Cheez Wiz stuff coming out of China by the ton and what most people buy. (not that I'm opinionated or anything...lol)
