Duane, I appreciate the service you provide and your honest opinions. I am frustrated to say the least with some of my previous decisions. But am now trying to work with them and would like your opinion and suggestions. The DR/LR space I am working with is about 16x16' on the LR side with 9 ft. ceilings. The DR side is about 17 x16 and has tray ceiling 9' and 11'. Windows face SE and SW. SE by fireplace. Need window treatments for privacy.
The Smith Brothers couch is 84" the larger windows are both 8' wide and the maroonish-rust chairs are about 36" wide.
The wicker and the corner stereo-secretary looking thing are going!!! If you think I can make something work given the other pieces great. What do I need to add, and placement suggestions? I am starting to hate this project because it is dragging out way too long and I am questioning so much that has been done. I respect your suggestions.
If that were my home, the two things I would look at doing are to 1) put in a sectional (L-shaped, 90 degree corner) with one end where the two red chairs are located, and 2) put a pair of matching bookcases under the windows next to the fireplace. You need to break the room off from the dining room and the sectional is perfect for that. And I'd probably put a single swivel chair on the area across from the sectional and in front of the main window, biased towards the fireplace. You have too much neutral in the room and need some color in there!
