Duane, I'd like to get my parents a decent chair. The reclining rocker has always been the most popular chair in their living room and when I was visiting I sat in it and its trashed. They've had a fabric lazy boy as long as I can remember. Is there a "best" quality chair when it comes to a rocker and reclining chair?
I have a Austin recliner which they like but I know it's not what they prefer. If Dad isn't rocking in his chair then he's swinging in his swing on the porch. They are in their mid-60s and I'd like to treat them to a chair that will last longer than the last one they bought.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
The Recliner-Rocker is a declining category. Very few models from the premium makers. I'd say look at these (they will be gliders rather than rockers, but the function is the same).

or any of the B-Y units where you see the "ring" on the base as they can accommodate a glider mechanism:

Thank you for the suggestions. Is there a chair within those that you find comfortable? My mom is petite but my dad is 6'1 240.
Really depends on who the primary user will be - as what fits your Dad is not likely to fit your Mother.
I'd stay with B-Y depending on the model style that will work for them as they specialize in that category and will have a significantly lower price than the Taylor Kind (or H&M units) while still being considerably higher quality than a Lay-Z-Boy brand piece.

I am going to try and find the B-Y models on display locally to check out myself. This chair will be my Dad's chair but mom will use(sleep in it lol) it too, thanks again.
