I've come into possession of six 35 year old Knoll Studio chairs that I want to sell. I'm well aware of the original price of the chairs as the tag is still on the underside. The original owner was in the office furniture business and has kept them in storage for 30+ years. They're in terrific condition other than a minor amount of dust that can easily be cleaned off.
My question is... How do I go about selling these to someone who will appreciate their value? I'm having trouble with Facebook and similar marketplaces. Am I getting fleeced for selling them for 1/12 of the original price? The people who are showing real interest are vintage resellers and will double their money off me. How/where can I get a fair return on these chairs?
Used furniture is a dime a dozen, unless it is recognized as collectible, which applies to about 1% of what's out there. Just because its old, doesn't mean it's valuable. Do your homework on EBAY completed auctions, Google auction results, etc. The market sets fair value most the time through auctions. If you think they are collectible, put them in an actual auction and pay the fees. Facebook Marketplace and/or Craigslist is the wrong place to sell anything of collector value.

Thank you for the suggestion. Similar products are selling for my sticker price on Ebay. Tremendous help.
